Academic and Community Involvement
EW Consulting Inc. believes in making a difference by educating the next generation in public works and engineering through academic and community involvement.
Over the years, EWC principals have successfully collaborated with educational leaders in the Pasadena Unified School District to establish The Innovation Project, art competitions that raise awareness of environmental and civil engineering issues and empower students to come up with their own implementable solutions. Students were also inspired to create art pieces boldly evoking the intensity of these issues at their core.
EWC has also collaborated with Marshall Fundamental Secondary School and has been contributing to its Innovation Program since 2015. This collaboration lead to Marshall Fundamental receiving the 2018 “Award of Excellence,” the highest honor in the annual Civic Learning Awards program co-sponsored by California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye and California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson. Winners were selected by a panel of experts based on the depth and breadth of their civic learning classes, clubs, and programs. The Chief Justice came to the school to present the award. “It is inspiring to see so many schools developing the next generation of leaders though civic education,” said Chief Justic Cantil-Sakauye. “In the end, civics education promotes civic engagement.” EWC proudly stands by the Chief Justice’s statement, and is committed to promoting and providing further education and development of great programs like the Innovation Program.
